Our Work
Part of our mission here at The Platform is to share information to demystify the business of art and creativity, and that includes the work with the Color the City Festival. We know that you might be interested in doing something similar and though event organization my seem intimating, it is more than possible!
01
Set your visions and mission
Start your project the heart of your work: what is the broad objective that is guiding your desire to launch this project?
Answer some big questions:

What is your event?
What are you hoping to achieve?
How will this work benefit those involved?

These first few questions will be helpful when describing your projects to others. Practice your answers in multiple different contexts and with friends or family if you feel comfortable! This will allow you to refine your vision until you can describe it very clearly.
02
Specifics and Guides
Once you know your broadest goal, its time to start thinking about what this will look like in concrete form.

Ask yourselves questions about structure and function:

Where do you want this event?
How many people?
Will you be able to fund this on your own or do you need sponsors?
Who do you want your event to reach?
What kind of venue fits the needs of your event?

03
Plan meets Reality
Now that you've ironed out your idea, its time to test the functionality of this "dream."
If you know you want to host your event in a park, now is the time to begin looking at sites and venues that could work. Here you are further solidifying your vision, though we are still in the planning phases of the process.
These will probably evolve over the course of your project and that's alright! Step 1 is key because knowing your goal will allow you to be flexible if specifics have to change due to any constraints.
