About Us
The Platform is a youth-driven organization that supports artistry and creativity within the city of Worcester. We aim to uplift and empower local artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives of all ages, identities, and crafts. We deeply believe in the importance of creative expression, and seek to promote a thriving local community of artistry and innovation.
It is our hope that through our work, we can bring greater awareness, inspiration, light, and life to the work of local artists and creatives within the City of Worcester and the Central Massachusetts region as a whole.
The Platform
Create 508
Without the City of Worcester, it is unlikely that The Platform as a team and an organization would exist as it does today. For this opportunity, we as a team and as individuals are immensely grateful. (No, they did not ask us to say this. It’s simply true!)
The Platform was founded under the City of Worcester’s “Create 508 – Youth Creatives and Entrepreneurs” program. We represent the second cohort of youth leaders brought together by the Create 508 initiative in the summer months of 2022. Under the direction, guidance, and mentorship of three dedicated Youth Mentors and Program Coordinator, we work in collaboration to develop strategic vision plans, refine large-scale objectives, and to bring our goals into reality, all with a steady focus on our mission of supporting art and creativity within the City of Worcester.
The Create 508 Program is a partnership between the Cultural Development Division and Division of Youth Opportunities. More specific information about the program and its goals can be found on the website of the Worcester Cultural Coalition. Check that site for information about being involved in future iterations of the program.

Build community around the arts
Through the Color the City festival and featured stories of artists/organizations in Worcester, we hope to support and foster growth and development within the local arts scene.
